Dover – Eleanor I. (Fenton) Keating, 81, of 97 Durham Rd. died Thursday January 20, 2005 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital with her family at her side.
Born in Dover on May 31, 1923 she was the daughter of John and Ellen (Piper) Fenton. She was a graduate of St. Mary Academy and Dover High School and resided here all of her life.
Eleanor’s loving heart and selfless nature were felt by all who knew her. Eleanor’s strong faith and love of prayer helped to sustain many of her friends and family throughout their lives. She was a beautiful example of a devoted wife, mother and nana. She was kind, understanding and compassionate and always knew the nicest ways to lift people’s spirits.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph Church but could often be seen attending devotions at any of the area Catholic churches. Whenever vacationing with her family, she especially enjoyed visiting new churches.
During her period of declining health she developed many lovely relationships with her doctor and those who cared for her at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Langdon Place Rehabilitation facility of Dover.
The widow of Leo E. Keating who died August 28, 2003, she is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen A. Hall and her husband Steven of Dover and Mary Ellen “May” Glovinski and her husband Gary of Berwick, ME, her son James F. Keating of Dover, her three grandchildren, Amanda K. Hall and Carly B. Glovinski both of Dover and Kayla A. Glovinski of Berwick, ME, two sisters, Jacqueline Ferland and her husband Rene and Marjorie Davis both of Dover, a brother Joseph P. Fenton and his wife Nancy of Rollinsford and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves sister-in-law Rose Marie Fenton, brother-in-law Gerald Routhier, and “Sis” Loretta Keating Labrie, all of Dover.
In addition to her husband, a sister Alice Routhier and three brothers Francis Fenton, Charles Fenton and Robert Fenton, and her lifelong friend Martha “Reggie” Wagner predeceased her.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday January 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25th at St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave. with Rev. Robert Cole, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery.
