Academic
Patrick McElhiney is currently enrolled in a PhD Computer Science program at the University of New Hampshire in Durham as of August 2018. He is majoring in Artificial Intelligence. McElhiney has not yet chosen a research project to study, though he is leaning in the direction of Information Security with Artificial Intelligence, such as an automatic decryption system that can determine any type of encryption algorithm based on cypher text and decrypt it to plain text, regardless of how complex and non-public the encryption scheme is.
McElhiney successfully defended his Thesis, completing his M.S. Information Technology degree at the University of New Hampshire in Manchester in August of 2018. His Thesis was on the topic of Scalable Web Service Development with Amazon Web Services (AWS). He also became a lifetime member of the Golden Key International Honors Society with a 4.0 GPA. McElhiney developed a social media website known as MeAndYou (www.meandyou.website), that used an EC2 Auto-Scaling Group to add more instances of the web server Amazon Machine Image (AMI) connected to a central Aurora database and a GitHub version control system, when a threshold of visitors hit the Elastic Load Balancer via HTTP or HTTPS. A microservice engine ran in the background to make matches between different types of searches for users on the platform, and was further modelled to use stream processing with a central message queue, with messages of new searches originating from the Front-End.
McElhiney has developed over 10,000 pages of invention concepts pertaining to the high-tech industry since briefly attending Franklin Pierce Law School in Concord, NH in 2010. He majored in Intellectual Property Law, i.e. Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights. One of his inventions, developed from 2010-2011, though never filed with USPTO due to its military classification, is a design for a system he refers to as "Artificial Telepathy", or the combination of Artificial Intelligence with a radio-wave processor that allows audio to communicated to and from a human brain, all from a satellite that stays in the same relative position to Earth in geostationary orbit. This, theoretically, would allow an organization such as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), to communicate and extract information from foreign intelligence agents in other countries for the purpose of gathering foreign intelligence in order to protect the national security of the United States.
Patrick completed a B.S. degree in Marketing Management from Daniel Webster College in Nashua, New Hampshire in May 2010. For his Capstone project, he wrote a comprehensive business plan for his own company, MCE123, which consists of nearly 300 pages of material split up into 13 different organizational departments. MCE123 was actually formed in 1999, with a Service Mark, registered in 2010, dating back to the origination of the domain name first used in commerce on 9/29/2002. The departments include Marketing, Advertising, Accounting, Technology Development, and Information Technology among others. Since developing the business plan, McElhiney has run all 13 departments of the company himself.
McElhiney completed an A.S. degree in Business Management from McIntosh College in Dover, New Hampshire in 2008, where he planned out his first major web business, Dover Was First, focused on the online news community from where his maternal family was born and raised. The website, which featured an online message board, photo galleries, and Content Management System (CMS) for news articles, all of which could be used by multiple users concurrently, was taken down later that year due to a lack of time and resources needed to invest into gaining advertising clients to support the financing of the online business. The business model was based more around establishing an online news business for every town, interconnected by one organization, which McElhiney determined could account for more than $1 Trillion dollars of advertising revenue per year if successfully executed in every town and city in the United States. McElhiney had previously worked to develop a prototype for the business in his hometown of Turlock, known as Turlock City News, for which he invested his time and resources into building a working model and website for the company's commerce.
