In 2007, Patrick R. McElhiney became a board member on Dover Main Street's Economic Enhancement Committee (DMS EEC, 2007-08), and he joined the Planning Committee for the Joe Parks Garden Project located in downtown Dover New Hampshire (Joe Parks Garden, 2007-08). McElhiney has volunteered over 300 hours in Downtown Dover New Hampshire, working in the Joe Parks Garden and helping to clean up downtown Dover, NH after the 2006 flooding. He has worked in the rain along side the former Mayor of Dover and other Dover Main Street volunteers, picking up leaves at the United Way Day of Caring, in addition to many other cleanup events.
Patrick McElhiney played Franklin Pierce, the 14th President of the United States and the only President from New Hampshire, in the reenactment of Dover Main Street's Presidents & Politicians - Revealed (Sanorn, 2007). It was announced that the video would play on Cable Television and be available on DVD, proceeds to benefit Dover Main Street. Videography provided by Spires Video Services in Dover, NH.
McElhiney volunteered to build a website for the Joe B. Parks Public Riverwalk Garden, located at www.joeparksgarden.org. He first designed the website, mostly as a photo gallery, in Adobe Flash, and later he converted the website into a Word Press website that is managed by Elizabeth Fischer. In 2017, McElhiney fixed the website after it was hacked because of lax passwords that the website used previously. This included a selective database merge with a new installation of Word Press, and selectively fixing the photo gallery, upgrading the code to the new version, in which Patrick McElhiney purchased from his company, MCE123, and donated to Dover Main Street.
In 2015, Patrick McElhiney volunteered some time to work on the Faces of Dover website, www.facesofdover.org, for Dover Main Street. His company was also paid to work on the website in 2015. The website is managed by Elizabeth Fischer, and Jeff Spires of Spires Video Services in Dover, NH.
