This technology pertains to the use of an arch with sensors along railroad tracks to automatically scan the train cars and contents that are inside for potential hazardous materials. The use of this technology for scanning and certifying the individual train cars, semi-truck compartments, and other types of containers are possible through the use of a digital tagging system that is accessed through a secured wireless signaling computer system. The scanning and certification process would certify the contents based on a digital signature of the actual contents that are inside each container, and the contents would be verified at both the origin and the destination of the shipment of the supplies. The digital tagging system also provides a way for multiple logistics companies to track their containers, such that the digital tagging system has geo-coordinate location systems that provide updated location and heading information based on each individual container.
